derives from the verb Defenestrate

thats right, the act of throwing someones ass out of a window like a mafia man named Vinny!!

the term AND the action has been used all throughout recorded history. from peeved Greek noblemen, to pissed off bible characters, to angry mobs that didn't like the catholic pope!

the term became coined, however, when the Defenestration of Prague took place in 1617. While no was killed in this incident (though many broken bones) the event is what ultimately triggered a 30 year war in bohemia!!

(medievals, am i right?!)

It is said by some Catholics that the survival of those defenestrated (i'm sure ur familiar with the term by now) at Prague Castle in 1617 was due to divine intervention, while many Protestants claimed that it was due to their landing in a large pile of manure. (gatta love the protestants!)
